Thomas Harmer has been named Deputy County Administrator for Sarasota County. The appointment is conditional pending post-offer requirements.

SATURDAY: A free "Community Connection Day" will help connect families with children to community service Saturday, July 21, 10 a.m.-noon at the Venice Public Library.

SATURDAY: Sarasota County will hold its annual free community cleanup in the Lake Sarasota area from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 21.

help you share educational assistance with low- and moderate-income families. The training is free, Aug. 1-3, at the Sarasota County Extension office at Twin Lakes Park. Registration is required by Aug. 1.
County eligible for assistance
The federal government has added Sarasota County to its list of counties eligible for individual assistance to offset costs of uninsured losses due to Tropical Storm Debby.
