County office closings for Presidents Day Most Sarasota County Government offices will be closed Monday, Feb. 16 , in observance of Presidents Day. Children who sign up at a county library and read three or more books during February earn a free grandstand ticket to the Orioles Spring Training game at Ed Smith Stadium on March 14 . Commission to participate in Convocation of Governments FRIDAY: The Sarasota County Commission will join other local governments and the School Board in a Convocation of Governments on Friday, Jan. 18. The meeting will be at 9:15 a.m. at the Sarasota County Technical Institute Conference Center, 4748 Beneva Road, Sarasota. The event will not be broadcast on Sarasota County Access TV. Hello Neighbors! We are pleased to report an increase in attendance at last night's meeting. That was great! We believe the signs that were put up throughout Lake Sarasota helped to increase the attendance. Thanks to all of those who put up the signs. In order to avoid any confusion about the next meeting, please pick up the signs and put them back out a few days before the next meeting (November 11th). TOPICS DISCUSSED LAST NIGHT Yard of the Month - The latest winners of the Yard of the Month award were selected. If you want to nominate a yard for the award, please let Renee Pitts know.
