Paving complete, Bee Ridge set to open two lanes after striping

Bee Ridge is nearly complete - the paving is mostly done - striping to come, and additional trees at Golf Course Blvd and Iona. Use caution at roundabouts. After striping is done, barrels will be lifted and road will be open to two-lane flow in both directions. A reminder that the Grand Opening Celebration is Nov. 28th, 2 pm at the Colonial Oaks Baptist Church (at Golf Course Blvd) parking area. Snacks and beverages will be on hand.

The Sarasota County Fire Department offers tips for keeping kids safe this Halloween. Sheriff's office hosts communications job fair The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office will host a job fair to recruit communications operators (9-1-1) for the Emergency Operations Bureau. The job fair will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29 , from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. , at the Sarasota County Emergency Operations Center, located at 6050 Porter Way, Sarasota. County to host workshop on I-75 overpass Sarasota County will hold a public workshop on the proposed Interstate 75 overpass connecting the future

From Keith and Sommer Russo: The Lake Sarasota Fall Festival is on 11/5 from 10 am-2pm at the Lakeview Park Pavilion. More people are signing up to bring something every day.
