SCAT to no longer enter Lake Sarasota

Users of SCAT please take note - this came from SCAT: SCAT service change (Bee Ridge Rd and Middlesex) is effective Saturday July 9, 2016. Due to the opening of the rotary at Gary Player, SCAT service will no longer turn into Middlesex Dr and exiting Wake Ave. Patrons are encouraged to use SCAT bus stops and shelters along Bee Ridge rd.

Summary of LSCG Meeting 6.9.16

The volunteer Lake Sarasota Community Group met Thursday - here's a brief summary of the meeting: Neighbors on Allan Place have expressed concerns about car lights, noise, bus noise, and exposure to Bee Ridge Rd. Meetings with the County are ongoing, and the some plans are in place for buffering. Further communication with the County and with SCAT is planned. Also, the placement of the SCAT bus stop at Allan Place presents concerns about traffic safety as well as nuisance issues. The Board unanimously voted to send an LSCG letter regarding these matters to the County, to SCAT, and to the District 2 Commissioner. Bee Ridge roadwork is largely complete along the Lake Sarasota area, except for landscaping, which is scheduled to begin very soon. REMINDER: Public Hearings for Comprehensive Plan Update on June 8 and 10 Public hearings for the Comprehensive Plan Update will be held on  June 8 at 1:30 pm  and on  June 10 at 9 am . These hearings are for Board of County Commissioners to consider transmitting the Comp Plan to the State for review. New Temporary Pattern for Bent Tree

Exiting Bent Tree Traffic will have to turn East starting this week. The Mauna Loa intersection is almost fully complete, with two northbound lanes now open. Eastbound, there will still be only one lane open. Medians are in, final work remains to be done.
