Sarasota County supervisor of elections offers early voting

(SARASOTA, FL,) Early voting for the January 29 Presidential Preference Primary will begin Monday, January 14, 2008, and continue through Sunday, January 27, 2008, Supervisor of Elections Kathy Dent announced today.

Eligible voters may vote early in one of the three SOE offices in Sarasota (Terrace Bldg, 2001 Adams Lane), Venice (R.L. Anderson Administration Bldg, 4000 Tamiami Trail South), and North Port (Biscayne Plaza, 13640 Tamiami Trail).

Voters may cast their ballots Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; on Saturdays, January 19 and 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Sundays, January 20 and 27, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Florida Law requires voters to present photo and signature ID in order to vote at the polls. If you appear to vote without current and valid ID, you will be required to vote a provisional ballot.

Supervisor of elections offices will remain open on King holiday for early voting

All three Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections offices will remain open on Monday, January 21 for early voting.

Early voting hours will be from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the three offices in Sarasota (Terrace Bldg., 2001 Adams Lane), North Port (Biscayne Plaza, 13640 Tamiami Trail, and Venice (R.L. Anderson Administration Center, 4000 Tamiami Trail S).

Voters must present a photo and signature ID or will be required to vote a provisional ballot. Name and address changes may be made through election day for the January 29 Presidential Preference Primary. However, the deadline for voter registration and party changes has passed. Voter registration and party changes will be accepted for subsequent elections only.
