Mowing schedule for Oct. 11-20
Here is the schedule for Sarasota County's roadside mowing and median maintenance program for Oct. 11-20, subject to weather conditions.
Red tide monitoring continues
There currently are no reports of fish kills on Sarasota County beaches, but staff from Sarasota County Parks and Recreation, lifeguards and the Health Department continue to monitor beaches for signs of red tide following cleanup efforts earlier this month.  
Early voting starts for Nov. 6 election
Vote early for the Nov. 6 General Election from Saturday, Oct. 27, through Saturday, Nov. 3.    
County launches Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan wiki 
Sarasota County wants your input and comments on the draft Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan. The wiki will be open for review and comment until Dec. 31. 
SCAT Routes 7 and 8 detoured on Orange Avenue 
Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT) bus riders will have detours during October on SCAT Routes 7 and 8 in the area of Orange Avenue in Sarasota due to drainage project construction.
Venice community cleans up Oct. 27
Sarasota County will hold its annual free community cleanup in the Venice area from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27. Dumpsters will be provided by Waste Management and will be available at three locations for refuse from residents.
Rev3 coming to south county
Would you like to be on national television? Invite your neighbors, friends and family to gather along the Florida HalfRev Triathlon race course on Sunday, Oct. 28, in Venice, Englewood, North Port and Charlotte County. More than 600 athletes will compete for a top spot in Revolution3's end-of-season finale that includes a first prize of $7,000 - one of the largest prize purses in the triathlon sport.
