A message from Sarasota County Emergency Management

From the County Emergency Managers:

We are now enter the heart of hurricane season--the time of most active hurricane activity. With this in mind, Sarasota County Emergency Management recommends all citizens to:

*Have a Family Plan (if evacuating, know where you will go, communicate with others your location)

*Plan to be self-sufficient for at least 7 days (food, water, cash, gasoline)

*Have a weather radio

*Have a Neighborhood Plan to help neighbors prepare and recover from a storm

*Have important papers secured from getting damaged/wet

*Have a Plan for pets

*Photograph items of interest inside and outside of the home for insurance purposes
