Keep Sarasota County Beautiful's 2015 International Coastal Cleanup is gathering volunteer groups of all kinds who will help collect litter at locations throughout the county from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 19.
Sarasota County's popular Civics 101 program will return Sept. 24 in a revised format: classes on each county department will now be covered in two "acts" instead of one, providing students more time for interaction with course content.
This event is part of the Florida Inaugural 5K Walk/Run events celebrating World Heart Day taking place in all 67 Florida counties on Sept. 26.
Early bird registration is now open for Sarasota County's 10th annual Sustainable Communities Workshop, to be held Thursday, Dec. 3, at the Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida Event and Conference Center, 4740 Cattlemen Road, Sarasota.
