Join a new program offered by Sarasota County UF/IFAS Extension and Sustainability and help protect and preserve water resources by becoming a water steward. 
The Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County's Health In Motion staff will provide free and low-cost public health services
during September.
On Saturday, Sept. 24, Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources staff will host a volunteer event honoring the 23rd Annual National Public Lands Day from 9 a.m. to noon at Pinecraft Park, 1420 Gilbert Ave., Sarasota.
Sarasota County's beach lifeguard operational hours have changed due to the end of summer and the close of the Labor Day weekend.
