Big trucks and two egg hunts are in store for kids at the 19th annual Big Truck Day EGGstravaganza, sponsored by Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources. Admission is free for the event, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at Twin Lakes Park, 6700 Clark Road, Sarasota.
Learn what's driving local transportation and infrastructure improvements in Sarasota County during National County Government Month (NCGM) in April. NCGM is an initiative of the National Association of Counties (NACo). It is celebrated each April by the nation's counties to raise public awareness and understanding about the roles and responsibilities of county government. This year's theme is "Counties Moving America Forward: The Keys are Transportation and Infrastructure."
The Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County (DOH-Sarasota) recognizes the value of measuring health outcomes using a variety of data tools. Today, Sarasota County Health and Human Services officials acknowledged the 2015 County Health Rankings & Roadmaps tool, released by the University of Wisconsin and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. 
Sarasota County is asking for the public's help as it creates a Parks, Preserves and Recreation Master Plan that will serve as a road map for the future of the department.
