If you are one of the millions caught up in the pickleball craze, there is still time to enter Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources' Fourth Annual Pickleball Slam.
This two-story, 40,000-square-foot facility contains the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), the Public Safety Communications Center (PSC) and the Sarasota County Contact Center (941-861-5000).A ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday honored the completion of the Sarasota County Emergency Operations Center.
A tour will be available at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, at the Sarasota County Fair that will highlight the exciting world of local agriculture and show participants how to better connect with 
their food.
Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources will host the annual, vendor sold-out Spring Arts and Crafts Show from
9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at the Englewood Sports Complex, 1300 S. River Road in Englewood. 
The Board of County Commissioners is asking the public to submit names for the Walton Ranch site (environmental land in east Sarasota County.) Ideas must be submitted by 5 p.m. March 16
Keep Sarasota County Beautiful is seeking volunteers for the 2015 Great American Cleanup, 8 a.m.- noon, Saturday, March 21, at sites throughout Sarasota County. In case of rain, the cleanup will be held on Saturday, March 28.  
Free tax help available through AARP
Free tax aid is available at locations throughout Sarasota County for quick filing of federal individual income tax returns at AARP tax aid sites and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites. The VITA sites are operated by the United Way Suncoast.
