County Updates: App for recycling, Little Free Libraries

Sarasota County's Solid Waste Division is excited to announce the launch of a new mobile app that will help you better manage your 
household waste.
Gulf Gate Public Library recently earned LEED Silver certification, which recognizes the application of best-in-class building strategies and practices for improved environmental and human health. 
The Venice Community Center will be closed to the public Aug. 10-14 
for maintenance.
The local country music sensation, One Night Rodeo, is bringing their full-throttle sounds and high-octane show back to the Venice Community Center. 
Vendors at the Sarasota Farmers Market are going green thanks to Sarasota County's Green Business Partnership.
Sustainability - UF/IFAS Extension offices are offering a class on the Little Free Libraries at Twin Lakes Park.
A portion of Jackson Road in Venice is expected to remain closed to traffic for about three more weeks as a contractor works to replace a failing stormwater pipe.
Local agencies are working together to promote breastfeeding as a vital health activity for nursing mothers and infants and to recognize breastfeeding friendly agencies in honor of National Breastfeeding Month.
Access Sarasota is undergoing maintenance.  Local live meeting coverage will continue, but scheduled programming will be temporarily interrupted.
