Burglar apprehended on Middlesex

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office has arrested Jason Flores, DOB 1/9/92, 1812 6th Street, Sarasota, in connection with a string of vehicle burglaries yesterday morning.
Deputies responded to a reported burglary in progress at a home on Middlesex Place after the resident saw someone on their back patio around 1:30 a.m. The subject fled but deputies found Flores hiding in a vehicle on nearby Hina Drive. Deputies determined that Flores burglarized four unlocked vehicles within 200 feet of each other. Deputies recovered numerous electronic devices and other items that had been taken from the vehicles and contacted the vehicle owners to confirm the property was theirs.
Flores, who has a history of burglary arrests, is charged with four counts of Burglary. He is currently being held in the Sarasota County Jail on $22,000 bond.
The Sheriff’s office reminds residents to lock vehicles at all times and remove items of value from plain sight to prevent these crimes of opportunity.
